Show-mances blossom; friendships are tested, while new ones are made; rivalries flare; songs are sung; and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only high school theater can provide.

High School Musical is a singalong film made in 2006 following the love story of two high school juniors. The main interests are Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens). The story begins when they meet on New Year's Eve as they both happen to be at the same karaoke holiday party.

All three movies in the High School Musical franchise were filmed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Believe it or not, East High School is a real place and is where most of the filming process took place in the first and third movies. For fans of the movies, this high school is iconic, from the red accents in the Wildcats' home gymnasium to the bright pink double locker belonging to Sharpay.

2007 has come and gone and on a site that's dedicated to covering the world of Disney entertainment, it's all too easy to look back and think it was an underwhelming year for the company. Sure, the Mouse has no worries financially; in theaters, only one Disney-branded film failed to meet expectations or earn "hit" designation, while the ever-blurring line of TV/music found the Disney Channel franchises of "Hannah Montana" and High School Musical riding high on sold-out concerts, record-setting sequels, and best-selling albums. Artistically, though, the successes were scattered and even then mostly limited to just a handful of pleasantly surprising movies. DVDs and CDs took a dive both in quantity and quality, most falling into a narrowcast niche rather than the type of universally-pleasing works most often associated with the "Disney" name.Nevertheless, we close our coverage of last year's releases with a half-dozen new CD reviews, including the Alan Menken/Stephen Schwartz soundtrack to Enchanted, the mixed-medium contemporary fairy tale that stands as one of the rare entities to win both wide audience and critical approval. We then take a look back over the entire year, with our second annual Year-in-Review designating standout albums and selecting the best and worst Disney CDs of 2007. In the 3rd and final installment, Chad is forced to participate in the spring musical. Though he was resistant to the idea at first, he eventually gives in and uses most of his time to practice. He receives a scholarship in the University of Albuquerque, which he intends on attending when he graduates high school. 041b061a72
